Things are looking up.
I may not have a phone, internet, or cable, but I’m getting more reading and writing done than I ever have. It feels to be kind of cut off from society.
I feel the vigor I once had bubbling up inside of me.
A lot of things have been happening lately. Some good, some bad. My mother is currently confined to a wheelchair. Her legs are swollen twice their size and she’s in a lot of pain, the doctors say she’ll need surgery. Most likely a hip replacement. But on the bright side, I’ve grown more attached to my immediate family. I’ve reforged the bond we had as if I never left. I hope things look up for as all, it’s been a long time coming.
The greatest thing since I’ve moved back is without a doubt spending more time around my 5 cats. I love them and all of their kooky personalities and their sweet lovins that they give. I also have many strays we’ve been feeding that I’ve taken responsibility. 6 that come to the front of my house, and maybe 10 or more that I feed down at my neighbor’s and it looks as if the numbers will be growing. Junior and Steve (you can thank my mother for those names) are both pregnant, so hopefully I’ll get to hear sweet little kitten noises soon.
I’m also making good progress on my first venture into writing in a while. The ideas have been flowing quite well. I’m proud of myself for actually getting SOMETHING accomplished. Lil
Today was absolutely fantastic. I awoke to my friend Cody at my house standing over me exclaiming that he made it to my house with no directions followed by an awesome Chipotle lunch. We then made the trek to Decatur and he presented me with two awesome gifts; Alan Moore’s “Top Ten”, and Warren Ellis’ “The Authority”. He also is letting me borrow the deluxe hardback addition of Warren Ellis’ “Gravel” which is even signed. He is a wonderful person. I also got to see my girlfriend for the first time since we started dating, which was very nice, though I guess her mother found out we were dating and is not fond of the fact at all, I really hope it doesn’t reflect upon the situation. After a wonderful rendezvous, Rashad, Ahmad, Cody, Gailan, and I all had a gigantic dinner at Asia House, it was literally the most massive amount of Chinese food I’ve ever had. We then came back to the twin’s apartment and watched Paranormal Activity 2, it was my second time seeing it and I didn’t like it any better, but I was increasingly drunk by then so I didn’t mind it so much. We then had a late night pizza session at Prime Time. I love staying at Rashad and Ahmad’s apartment, these fellas always make me feel like family.
Day two will hold some awesome events as well. Tanner is planning on having a get together with the boys that will hopefully lead to many good times. Lets hope Alan doesn’t act like a tool.
